Foot Pain Relief in Santa Rosa, CA

Healthy Movement Starts at Your Feet.

Your feet are the foundation of nearly every movement you make.

Every step, every squat, every hike, every bike ride, and every time you stand up, your feet help absorb force, create balance, and transfer movement through the rest of your body.

When they stop moving well, the effects often extend far beyond the feet themselves.

Foot pain isn't always just a foot problem. Restrictions in the feet can influence how the ankles, knees, hips, and even your back move. Likewise, restrictions elsewhere in the body can change how forces travel through the feet.

Rather than focusing only on where it hurts, I assess how your feet function within the rest of your body to identify movement restrictions and compensation patterns that may be contributing to your symptoms.

My goal isn't simply to reduce foot pain, it's to help your body move more efficiently from the ground up. That way your foot pain won’t keep coming back.

Why Does Foot Pain Keep Coming Back?

Foot pain often becomes frustrating because the painful area isn't always the only contributor.

Your feet work with your ankles, calves, knees, hips, and the rest of your body every time you move.

When movement becomes restricted somewhere along that chain, your feet often compensate by absorbing more force than they were designed to.

Over time, those compensation patterns can contribute to persistent pain, stiffness, and changes in the way you walk.

Rather than looking only at the painful area, I assess how your entire movement system works together to identify restrictions that may be contributing to your symptoms.

What Makes My Approach Different?

Many approaches to foot pain focus on the painful tissue itself.

While that can be helpful, it doesn't always explain why the problem developed in the first place.

My approach also considers the superficial layer of connective tissue (skin and fascia) and how all of the tissue surrounding your feet moves together.

Healthy movement depends on these tissue layers being able to glide freely in relation to one another.

When movement between those layers becomes restricted, your body often adapts by changing how force travels through the feet during standing, walking, and other daily activities.

Rather than focusing only on the painful area, I assess how your feet, ankles, lower legs, and the surrounding tissues move together to identify restrictions that may be contributing to your symptoms.

The goal isn't simply temporary relief, it's to improve how your body moves.

A Common Question

"If my foot hurts, why would you work on my calf or hip?"

Your feet don't move independently.

Every step you take depends on your feet, ankles, knees, hips, pelvis, and spine working together.

If one area becomes restricted, another area often compensates.

That's why your session may include areas beyond your feet. Improving movement throughout the system often reduces unnecessary stress on the tissues that are causing your pain.

What Happens During Your Session?

We'll discuss your symptoms, previous injuries, surgeries, activities, and the care you've already tried.

From there, I'll assess how your feet, ankles, lower legs, knees, hips, and surrounding tissues move together to identify restrictions and compensation patterns that may be contributing to your foot pain.

Depending on what I find during your movement assessment, your session may include Dermal-Fascial Restoration, Fascia Stretch Therapy, or a combination of both. The techniques I use are selected based on how your body moves—not from a predetermined routine.

Throughout the session, I continually reassess how your body responds so every session is tailored specifically to how your body moves.

What Does a Session Feel Like?

Every session is a little different because every body moves differently.

Depending on what we find during your assessment, your session may include a combination of techniques designed to address the movement restrictions contributing to your symptoms.

It's common to notice standing, walking, balance, or the way your feet contact the ground feels different immediately after your session. Others continue noticing changes over the following days as their body adapts to moving differently.

Rather than focusing only on temporary relief, my goal is to help your body move with greater ease, efficiency, and confidence.

Is This Right for You?

This approach may be a good fit if you:

  • Have foot pain that keeps returning.

  • Experience pain with standing or walking.

  • Feel like your feet are stiff or tight.

  • Have pain during hiking, running, or exercise.

  • Have tried massage, stretching, orthotics, or physical therapy without lasting improvement.

  • Feel like your body is compensating because of your feet.

  • Want to improve movement rather than simply reduce pain.

Every session is individualized based on your movement patterns, history, and goals.

Conditions Commonly Addressed

Sessions are commonly used for people experiencing:

  • General foot pain

  • Arch pain

  • Heel pain

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Achilles tendon pain

  • Posterior tibial tendon pain

  • Foot stiffness

  • Limited ankle mobility

  • Pain with walking or hiking

  • Recovery after foot or ankle injuries

Rather than focusing only on a diagnosis, I look at how your body moves to identify the restrictions that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Why Healthy Feet Matter

Your feet do much more than support your body.

They help absorb impact, create stability, provide sensory information to your nervous system, and transfer force every time you move.

When they lose mobility or stop functioning efficiently, the rest of the body often adapts.

That's one reason foot problems can influence the ankles, knees, hips, and even the back.

Helping your feet move well isn't just about reducing foot pain.

It's about creating a stronger foundation for everything built on top of them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you help if I've already tried orthotics or physical therapy?

Many of my clients have tried other approaches before coming to see me.

Rather than focusing only on supporting the foot or strengthening individual muscles, I assess how your feet function within the rest of your movement system to identify restrictions that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Will you only work on my feet?

Not necessarily.

Depending on your movement assessment, your session may also include your calves, ankles, knees, hips, or other areas influencing how your feet function.

Can this help plantar fasciitis?

Many people with plantar fasciitis benefit from improving how their feet and the rest of their body move together.

If plantar fasciitis is your primary concern, you can also learn more on my dedicated Plantar Fasciitis page.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing that allows movement is ideal.

If Dermal-Fascial Restoration is part of your session, I'll need access to the skin in the areas being treated. Draping and blankets are always provided, and your comfort is always my priority.
